- By Phone: Call (937) 222-STOP or 1-800-637-5735, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- By Text: Text the word “TIP400” followed by your message to CRIMES (274637)

SUBMITTING A TIP TO THE MIAMI VALLEY CRIME STOPPERS
Information is always needed to solve felony crimes and apprehend felony fugitives in Dayton and the surrounding Miami Valley area. If you have information call (937) 222-STOP or 1-800-637-5735, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Give as much detailed information as possible. The Crime Stoppers coordinator answers the phone during regular business hours Monday-Friday. After hours, the calls are taken by a specialized answering service based out of Canada. You will always remain anonymous and we do not record your voice or denote your gender.
After you give your information you will receive a special code number. Make sure you write this number down correctly and don’t lose it. You remain anonymous and this is our only link to you. Crime Stoppers will forward the information to the appropriate law enforcement agency for follow-up. After a few weeks you can call the coordinator Monday-Friday during regular business hours to receive an update on your information.
Tipsters can also submit a web tip online or by text message while still remaining anonymous. To submit a tip online simply click the web tip button located in the upper right hand corner of this page. To submit a crime tip using your cell phone text the word “TIP400” followed by your message to CRIMES (274637). You will receive a reply message with your special code number or alias. Crime Stoppers will NOT receive your phone number we will only know you by your alias which allows for anonymous two way communication. If your information leads to the arrest and indictment of a criminal you will be eligible for a reward up to $1,000. All reward recommendations are decided on by the Crime Stoppers board of directors on a monthly basis. The board of directors is comprised of citizens from the community, most of who own or operate a nearby business.
