Miami Valley Crime Stoppers is a crime-solving, not for profit, charitable organization serving Dayton and the surrounding miami valley area since 1984. The primary objective of this organization is to work in harmony with the community, media, and law enforcement to solve crimes and apprehend fugitives. Miami Valley Crime Stoppers works closely with WDTN Channel 2, Miami Valley Cable Council, and Dayton Daily News to feature our “Most Wanted Fugitives” and “Crime of the Week”.
Crime Stoppers provides a means of communication for members of the public to anonymously provide law enforcement agencies with information on felony crimes or wanted fugitives. Tipsters can give information by calling 937-222-STOP
without revealing their identity.
Tipsters can also submit a web tip online or by text message while still remaining anonymous. To submit a tip online simply click the web tip button located in the upper right hand corner of this page. To submit a crime tip using your cell phone text the word “TIP400” followed by your message to CRIMES (274637). You will receive a reply message with your special code number or alias. Crime Stoppers will NOT receive your phone number we will only know you by your alias which allows for anonymous two way communication. Tipsters may be eligible for a financial reward up to $1,000 dollars if their information leads to an arrest and indictment.
As of September 2004 to December 2007, Miami Valley Crime Stoppers accounts for over 432 arrests, over $72,000 in rewards approved, and over $111,000 in stolen property, guns, and illegal narcotics recovered.
